Trawler capsize kills nine in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Nine people including six children, were killed and 20 others remain missing as a passenger trawler capsized in Arial Kha River in the country’s central Narsingdi district on Saturday.
The trawler with an unspecified number of passengers on board sank in the river due to excessive load when it was heading towards a local shrine, a local police official said.
However, some passengers managed to swim ashore.
A team of divers reached the spot around 3:00pm (local time) and started the rescue operation, the police official added.
