Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks maintained the positive trend at midday on Wednesday as optimistic investors continued their buying spree on sector-wise stocks.
Following the previous day’s marginal correction, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw upward trend in early trading amid rising trading activities.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 16 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse gained 33 points at 10:45am.
After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX gained more than 15 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse rose 26 points at 11:00am.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced more than 12 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index gained 14 points at 12noon when the report was filed.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,872 points, advancing 12.30 points or 0.21 percent at 12noon.
The two other indices also saw positive note till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 7.33 points or 0.33 percent to reach at 2,203 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 1.70 points or 0.12 percent to stand at 1,362 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.43 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
Beximco was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 256 million changing hands, followed by Keya Cosmetics BDT 141 million, Northern June Manufacturing Company BDT 113 million, Alif Industries BDT 77 million and Monno Ceramic BDT 73 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 166 advanced, 97 declined and 56 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw upward trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse – advancing 14 points to stand at 18,105 points, also at 12noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also gained 10 points to reach at 10,942 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 58 gained, 69 declined and 29 issues remained unchanged with BDT 125 million in turnover.
