Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks remained in positive zone to maintain the morning trend at midday on Wednesday as investors stayed active on sector-wise stocks.
Following the previous two days’ correction, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened marginally higher amid rising trading activities.
Within first 30 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 12 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse gained 20 points at 10:30am.
After first hour of trading, the DSEX advanced more than 18 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse rose 48 points at 11:00am.
After two hours of trading, DSEX advanced 28 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index gained 39 points at 12 noon when the report was filed.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,438 points, advancing 28 points at 12noon.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 10.51 points or 0.52 percent to reach at 2,016 points till then.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 7.42 points to stand at 1,261 points till then.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.60 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
Alif Industries was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 241 million changing hands, closely followed by Golden Harvest Agro Industries BDT 208 million, Beximco BDT 189 million, Intraco Refueling Station BDT 112 million and Nahee Aluminum BDT 89 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 195 advanced, 76 declined and 49 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw positive trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse – advancing 39 points to stand at 16,741 points, also at 12noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also fell 23 points to reach at 10,132 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 96 gained, 50 declined and 18 issues remained unchanged with BDT 81 million in turnover.
