Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh’s stocks closed with a mixed trend as most of the investors remained followed ‘wait-and-see’ approach amid low confidence to the market.
Both the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the prime bourse of Bangladesh, and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), the port city bourse of the country, witnessed volatility throughout the session and closed in the mixed trend.
The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) gained 8.17 points while the port city bourse, selective category index of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) lost 14.77 points at the closing.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
The benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) went up by 8.17 points or 0.18 per cent to finish the day at 4,443.63 points, after witnessing volatility throughout the session.
However, the DS30 index, comprising blue chips saw a fractional loss of 0.47 point or 0.03 per cent to close at 1,703.31 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also fell 1.12 points or 0.10 per cent to finish at 1,077.74 points.

DSE turnover rose 4.0 per cent to BDT 3.12 billion, compared to the day’s three months lowest turnover of BDT 3.0 billion.
The gainers took a modest lead over the losers as out of 317 issues traded, 159 closed higher, 110 lower and 48 remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
Bangladesh Steel Re-rolling Mills (BSRM) dominated the turnover chart for the second running session with shares worth above BDT 186 million changing hands followed by Orion Pharma, Quasem Drycells, LankaBangla Finance and Malek Spinning.
Quasem Drycells was the day’s best performer, posting a rise of 9.81 percent while Green Delta Insurance was the worst loser, slumping by 7.30 per cent.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
However, the port city bourse Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed slightly lower with its Selective Categories Index, CSCX, falling 14.77 points to finish at 8,305.84 points.

Losers beat gainers as 98 issues closed lower, 97 closed higher and 42 remained unchanged on the CSE.
The port city bourse traded 7.10 million shares and mutual fund units worth BDT above 229.38 million in turnover.
