Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks kept its upward trend at midday on Monday as some optimistic investors continued their buying binge on sector specific stocks.
Following the previous four days’ positive trend, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw positive trend in early trading.
After 30 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced 10.22 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse advanced 4.31 points when the report was filing at 10:30am.
After first hour of trading, the DSEX stands at 5,456 points, advancing more than 11 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 31 points at 11:00am.
After two hours of the trading, DSEX went up by 20.33 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city’s bourse rose 9.16 points when the report was filing at 12noon.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
After first half of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) stands at 5,464 points, advancing 20.33 points or 0.37 percent at 12noon.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 9.16 points or 0.45 percent to reach at 2038 points. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 4.23 points or 0.34 percent to reach at 1,267 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.74 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
MJL Bangladesh topped the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 296 million changing hands till then, closely followed by LankaBangla Finance BDT 189 million, Brac Bank BDT 178 million, IFAD Autos BDT 156 million and Summit Power BDT 98 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 182 advanced, 175 declined and 40 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw negative trend with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – advancing 44 points to stand at 10,259 points, also at 12noon.
Of the issues traded till then, 95 gained, 44 declined and 26 issues remained unchanged with BDT 186 billion in turnover.
