Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed upward trend in early hour of trading on Sunday, the opening day of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 20.64 points or 0.43 percent to reach at 4,860.79, after first 30 minutes of trade, when the report was filed at 11:00am.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 3.31 points or 0.18 percent to stand at 1,854.26.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 0.25 points or 0.02 percent to stand at 1,191.19.

Turnover on the DSE stands at BDT 736 million when the report was filed.

Of the issues traded till then, 123 advanced, 79 declined and 39 issues remained unchanged.

Shahjibazar Power Company was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 62.45 million changing hands followed by BBS, City Bank, Trust Bank and Saif Powertec.

The port city bourse – the CSE – also saw upward trend in early hour of trading with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – rose 56 points to stand at 9,083.48, also at 11:00am.

Of the issues traded till then, 70 gained, 31 declined and 16 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of BDT 45 million.
