Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks stayed in the positive note at midday on Tuesday amid choppy trading as investors were active on both sides of trading fence.
Following the previous three days’ sharp fall, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened on positive note amid low trading activities.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 9.0 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse gained 32 points at 10:45am.
After that the stocks on DSE started to decline and after 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX fell more than 8.0 points at 11:00am.
However, the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse advanced 33 points at 11:00am.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced more than 9.0 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index gained 23 points at 12noon when the report was filed.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,367 points, gaining 9.87 points or 0.18 percent at 12noon.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also advanced 0.42 points to stand at 1,233 points till then.
However, the DS30 index, comprising blue chips, fell 1.27 points to reach at 1,882 points till then.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 1.80 billion when the report was filed at 12noon.
Khulna Power Company was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 295 million changing hands, followed by Active Fine BDT 99 million, Shasha Denims BDT 80 million, Intec BDT 79 million and National Life Insurance BDT 78 million
Of the issues traded till then, 146 advanced, 110 declined and 60 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw positive trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse – advancing 23 points to stand at 16,514 points, also at 12noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also gained 13 points to reach at 10,002 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 56 gained, 61declined and 26 issues remained unchanged with BDT 96 million in turnover.
