Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks stayed in the positive trend at midday on Wednesday as investors remained active on sector-wise stocks.
Following the previous four days’ correction, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened on upward note amid rising trading activities.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 19 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse gained 20 points at 10:45am.
After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX advanced more than 31 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse rose 36 points at 11:00am.
However, it slowed down some extent as the session progressed.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced more than 6.0 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index gained 39 points at 12noon when the report was filed.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,559 points, advancing 6.70 points or 0.12 percent at 12noon.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also advanced 2.72 points to stand at 1,273 points till then.
However, the DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also lost 1.46 points to reach at 1948 points till then.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 3.12 billion when the report was filed at 12noon.
Khulna Power was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 331 million changing hands, followed by Unique Hotel BDT 164 million, Aman Feed BDT 148 million, Bashundhara Paper Mills BDT 118 million and IPDC Finance BDT 112 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 159 advanced, 88 declined and 68 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw positive trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse–advancing 39 points to stand at 17,109 points, also at 12noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also gained 24 points to reach at 10,362 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 107 gained, 45 declined and 24 issues remained unchanged with BDT 117 million in turnover.
