Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks maintained the upward trend at midday on Tuesday as investors continued their buying spree on sectors-wise stocks.

Following the previous seven days’ sharp fall of 328 points correction, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened on positive trend amid low trading activities.

Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 28 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse rose 44 points at 10:45am.

After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX gained more than 15 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse advanced 68 points at 11:00am.

After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced more than 41 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index advanced 119 points at 12noon when the report was filed.

DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:

DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,816 points, advancing 41.52 points or 0.72 percent at 12noon.

The tow other indices also saw upward trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 13 points or 0.60 percent to reach at 2,140 points.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 9.87 points or 0.73 percent to stand at 1,358 points till then.

Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 1.04 billion, when the report was filed at 12:00 noon.

Grameenphone (GP) was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 68 million changing hands, closely followed by Square Pharmaceuticals BDT 45 million, Al-Atafah Islami Bank BDT 43 million, Aamra Networks BDT 31 million and Unique Hotel & Resorts BDT 29 million.

Of the issues traded till then, 209 advanced, 40 declined and 47 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.

CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:

The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw upward trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse –advancing 119 points to stand at 17,969 points, also at 12noon.

The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also gained 72 points to reach at 10,846 points till then.

Of the issues traded till then, 99 gained, 23 declined and 17 issues remained unchanged with BDT 75 million in turnover.
