Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks stayed in the positive trend at midday on Thursday as investors remained active on sectors-wise stocks amid ongoing quarterly earnings declaration.
Following the previous day’s positive close, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened on positive trend amid low trading activities.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 12 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse gained 12 points at 10:45am.
After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX gained more than 11 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse rose 35 points at 11:00am.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced more than 23 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index gained 78 points at 12noon when the report was filed.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,825 points, advancing 23.24 points or 0.40 percent at 12noon.
The two other indices also saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 13 points or 0.59 percent to reach at 2,179 points. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) rose 3.48 points or 0.25 percent to stand at 1,346 points till then.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.30 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
United Power was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 164 million changing hands, closely followed by Grameenphone BDT 158 million, BSRM Limited BDT 147 million, Beximco BDT 101 million and Navana CNG BDT 60 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 152 advanced, 107 declined and 54 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw upward trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse – advancing 78 points to stand at 17,972 points, also at 12noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also gained 47 points to reach at 10,864 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 79 gained, 54 declined and 15 issues remained unchanged with BDT 1.22 billion in turnover.
