Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Bangladesh’s stocks turned on positive trend at midday on Thursday as investors are active on sector-wise stocks.
Following the previous day’s flat movement, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) saw negative trend while the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed positive trend in early trading amid rising trading activities.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse gained more than 12 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse advanced 6.68 points at 10:45am.
After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX fell 1.70 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse stayed green with gaining 4.65 points at 11:00am.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced more than 16 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index gained 33 points at 12noon when the report was filed.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE:
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,809 points, advancing 16.13 points or 0.27 percent at 12noon.
The two other indices also saw upward trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 11.40 points or 0.52 percent to reach at 2,178 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 0.63 points or 0.04 percent to stand at 1,349 points till then.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 1.91 billion, when the report was filed at 12noon.
BRAC Bank was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 135 million changing hands, closely followed by Aamra Networks BDT 86 million, Unique Hotel BDT 75 million, Monno Ceramic BDT 58 million and Beximco BDT 51 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 156 advanced, 94 declined and 60 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE:
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw positive trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse – gaining 33 points to stand at 17,873 points, also at 12noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also gained 19 points to reach at 10,803 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 64 gained, 61 declined and 28 issues remained unchanged with BDT 150 million in turnover.
